In this edition of Chronicle, we’re excited to share a conversation between Kate Crokam, Director of Alumni Engagement, and Naomi Melvin ’09, Co-Editor-in-Chief, as they discuss the collaborative efforts of Old Girls/Alums and the school in shaping Havergal’s future.
Kate: Naomi, it’s always inspiring to see how our Old Girls/Alums, like yourself, continue to engage with Havergal. As Co-Editor-in-Chief, how do you see your role in connecting past graduates with current students?
Naomi: Thanks, Kate. It’s really an honour. I think my role is to bridge the gap between the generations, sharing stories that highlight our shared experiences and the evolution of Havergal. By showcasing the accomplishments and insights of our Old Girls/Alums, we can inspire current students to see the endless possibilities that lie ahead.
Kate: Absolutely. The theme of being “Future Ready” is central to our mission. How do you think our Old Girls/Alums can contribute to preparing students for the future?
Naomi: Our Old Girl/Alum network is a treasure trove of knowledge and experience. By mentoring students, participating in school events, and sharing their professional journeys, Old Girls/Alums can provide invaluable guidance. This collaboration not only helps students navigate their future careers but also fosters a sense of community and continuity.
Kate: Well said. It’s this sense of community that makes Havergal unique. Our Old Girls/Alums’ willingness to give back ensures that each new generation is well-equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow.
Naomi: Yes! We’re not just preserving Havergal’s legacy, but actively shaping its future!
Through this ongoing collaboration, Havergal remains a beacon of academic excellence and community spirit, continuously evolving to meet the needs of its students and Old Girls/Alums!
